Central America
by Jim Kontilis
Mexico had long been a conduit for illegal commerce into the Southern areas of the Unites States. Farsighted mullahs now secure in a Middle East no longer influenced by 'crusader' expeditions from the US, nor NATO, began the colonization of Mexico by pouring in believers and money from the united Caliphates sprung forth from the Arab Spring initiatives. Soon mosques were built and shortly thereafter, conversions of the local populace. After living with years of government corruption and continued violence at the hands of the drug cartels, the average Mexican citizen was more than willing to embrace a new religion that promised true 'peace'. It didn't take much longer for the indigenous Catholic population, disarmed by the government decades ago, to be marginalized by the armed and converted Islamic Mexicans.
The UN later recognized the Caliphate of Central America (CoCA).
The drug cartels still influence the US borders, including a heavy infiltration of large population centers in California and Arizona, whilst many areas on the extensive Texas border have been colonized by migrant workers.
The Gulf of Mexico is now well and truely an American Lake. USMC forces stationed at GITMO, along with the Cuba Democratic Liberation Front (CDLF) have routed the corrupt Castro regime and now the prison cells that used to be filled with Islamic 'persons of interest' captured in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan, are now filled with those who enslaved a population in the name of a long dead concept. Cuba is free and now a Forward Operations Base for the United States Marines.
The CoCA theocracy is heavily engaged in removing any threat to their newly established government and has declared a jihad against not only the United States, but also the remnants of the Catholic Church, describing them as 'puppets of the Crusader states'. There is a continued flow of refugees from the central areas of Mexico, seeking to escape the religious persecution of their new masters. Many continue to try to reach the US, but the chances of success are slim. The old drug and people trafficking routes are still maintained by the cartels, but they do not necessarily provide service to the highest bidder, given their newly found spiritual enlightenment.
