Tango Five Fives in El Paso
by Jim Kontilis
No one can really say who started the assault on America. Some will point to political events such as the attempted withdrawal of America from the rest of the world. Some might look back on missed opportunities to engender new friendships or the abandonment of former allies in the pursuit of peace.
For the citizens of El Paso, the conflict became real early on Monday. While the Border Patrol was going through their routine checks, a massive VBIED was triggered obliteration the inbound side if Interstate 110.
KFOX14 was the first station on site and reported that there were hundreds of casualties and quickly began questioning whether or not another "9/11" had just transpired. As emergency vehicles rushed to the scene to provide aid, the distant rumble of engines began to emanate from the South.
